Why L.A.?
Los Angeles is unique. It is eclectic, energetic and a beautiful place. I have lived in Los Angeles most of my life and wake up each day to the sheer natural beauty and dramatic setting of the magnificent sky, surrounding mountains, beaches, palm trees, open spaces and the smell of jasmine. And, “Where there is beauty, there is light” (Victor Hugo). The glorious sunny weather, 325 days a year, temperate climate — and a light that is inspiring and energizing, bright and smooth — influence every aspect of life in L.A.
Los Angeles’ open and enthusiastically outdoor life style is a direct product of its natural environment filling me with the feeling that all possibilities are available with proximity to every conceivable urban amenity. It is one of the few cities in the world where – within the same day – you have the option to be in the mountains, the desert, the city, or the beach and experience unbelievably beautiful sunrises and sunsets. L.A .is ever changing, and moving in directions that blends the past with current trends and the future. There is a strong sense of individuality and creative self-expression that makes the city’s style so appealing to so many people.
“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris…
then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays
with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
Ernest Hemmingway
Pourqoui Paris?
Paris is special. I am speaking from personal experience. When I was 18, I spent time in Paris, as a university student exploring Europe for the first time, becoming aware then of how very beautiful, enchanting and inspirational the city is with its majestic buildings, elegant boulevards and colorful neighborhoods. It was difficult for me to leave, even then, a place to which I knew I had to return.
And return I did — many times and over many years, acquiring a habit and intense love of fashion and design, finally launching my own apparel fashion business importing, selling and distributing French children’s designer clothing to upscale retailers in the United States. That enabled me to live my dream and be able to actually own an apartment in Paris. It is no exaggeration to say that where I am today is because I was there then. On each and every visit, the city always managed to thrill my soul! I am not alone in this feeling in that Paris, throughout history, has been a magnet for great writers, artists, designers and thinkers that are attracted to its nurturing and inspirational atmosphere, environment and culture. And, as Ernest Hemmingway once said, “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris…then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
