Why LA? Pourquoi Paris? illustrates the beauty of the City of Lights and the City of Stars. Diane Ratican, Los Angeles native, fell in love with Paris at 18 and has been connected to the city ever since. After years of visiting cafes, perusing boutiques, and embracing all that the city has to offer, she started her own fashion apparel business, importing and distributing designer French children’s clothing in her home city. Los Angeles has long been known for its incorporation of natural beauty, including year-round sunshine and easy access to the mountains, beach, and desert. Ratican began drawing comparisons between the natural beauty of Los Angeles and the striking cultural significance of Paris.
